How the name VIBE UP came to be:

We’ve known each other since our UP days and we have become vibes when we met again in NJ some years later.  Vibes started in friendship… feeling what the other feels, thinking what the other is thinking.  Often than not, we are of the same wavelength… the same channel… we’re “vibes”.  Thus we started calling each other Vibe

As you can see, V has become our favorite symbol.

UP stands for the university where we both attended college – University of the Philippines.  It can also be pronounced as spelled giving a positive direction in addition to the word vibe.

Visit us from time to time for updates and news.  Feel free also to send us any comments or suggestions: vida-neil@vibeup.com.

Meanwhile, sit back, relax, and Vibe UP!

Home Sweet Home
We're moving-in to our first home sweet home.
When you visit Los Angeles area, we're just nearby, in Glendora city.  You are very welcome to visit us here.

Here's an areal view of our neighborhood.  This contains pictures from the brochure and the furnitures/fixtures are from the previous owners.  We're still in the process of moving in and have not set up our own items yet.

We'd like to thank our first ever official guests: Angelo Lopez and family (Lizette, Zach, Zeke) last October 28, 2006.  That happened to be our first day of move-in so their visit was very meaningful and greatly appreciated.  Thanks again Gelo and Lizette.

Everyone is welcome to visit again when we have
our house blessing - which is not yet set.  We'll
let you know when we will have that.

We have great gratitude and love for our parents for supporting us in the planning of this wedding, most especially to Mommy Velma who had performed most of the legwork for us despite her busy schedule.  She sent us copies of menus to choose from as well as brochures gathered from various wedding shops and wedding exhibits.  Most of the services we had decided on commissioning have been based on our diligent research and referrals from friends but it is Mommy Velma, together with Daddy Danny, who makes things happen in Manila.  Many thanks, too, to Mama Gie for making the long trip from Bicol to Manila to help coordinate with us and Mommy Velma for these preparations.  Thank you too to Daddy Danny for the pieces of advice and great support.

Thank you Papa Pol for constantly making your presence felt in spirit.  We always feel your inspiration and guidance.

Thank you our Dear Parents for being the parents that you are to us, molding us to who we are now.  Your love and the way you have loved your spouses and children will be our model and inspiration in the family that we will be starting.

Words are not enough to thank you for all the things you have done for us and for helping us be where we are now.  We owe you a lot and as Catholic teachings say, one way we can repay you is to be model parents to our children by imbibing the positive values and attitudes we have learned in our lives through you.   It is not an easy task to be parents and everyone is but human but with God’s Grace and our love for each other, it is our goal to make our family a reflection of the family we have always been part of … and even better we hope J

God bless you all!

The lovely red rose here was taken from a church in San Diego, California when we were there on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2004.   That was when Neil officially asked for Vida’s hand in marriage while on the other side of the globe, in the Philippines, February 15, 2004 afternoon, Mama Gie, Lynn, Kuya Gani and Felicse visit Vida's family at their residence in Pasig City for the pamamanhikan .

Meanwhile, in San Diego, Neil and Vida had a celebration over lunch at P.F. Chang’s Chinese restaurant together with Mama Gie’s younger brother - Uncle Larry, his wife Auntie Nilda and their eldest son - Raymond.

2004 is a lucky year for Neil and Vida, both born in the year of the Ox.  Considering that their siblings are all nearing marrying age, Neil and Vida decided to have their church wedding on this lucky year.  So started their preparations…  first is the choosing of the dates.  Which dates would have a full moon, which dates will be auspicious, which date in December so families and friends can gather during the Christmas Holidays, and most of all which date will still be available in the churches and reception venues in Manila.

Mommy Velma and Daddy Danny started searching for availability of churches and hotels.  She has tried many among which included the church in Guadalupe, Santuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park, Christ the King in Libis, and others.  For hotels, they checked Manila Peninsula, Shangri-La Makati, and EDSA Plaza Shangri-LA.  As Mary the mother of Christ is close to us, we found Mary the Queen Parish Church in Greenhills West, San Juan and for reception, the New World Renaissance Hotel to be a match.  And so the big event will be on December 26, 2004.
